(Almost) The End! [Sep. 5th, 2004|05:52 pm]

[Current Mood |happyhappy]

Well, folks, that's it. 49 fics and drabbles formatted, posted, read, and reviewed. I'm not sure I'm going to know what to do with myself now. :-)

If you guys don't mind indulging me, I have some thanks to announce.

Firstly, thanks so much to every single one of the writers who pulled through with their drabbles and fics - you have all been excellent sports, and I couldn't have done this without any of you. The writing quality has been really superb, and I've genuinely been in awe of all of your work.

Thanks also to all the lurkers - you've been very quiet, but it's been nice to know you're there. :-) Thanks for sticking around - a fest comm isn't worth the community it's posted at without readers, and I'm thankful to each of you that stuck it out.

Especial thanks goes to my f-list, who have put up with innumerable panic attacks from me, and given invaluble advice, and generally been a much appreciated ear - particularly [info]gmth, who lent her expertise, and whom I do not envy in the least. :-D Running these things, as it turns out, is rather scary.

Massive love and kudos to [info]utopianbabie, who presented me with a huge and brilliant list of challenge prompts way back at the beginning of this thing, saving me many many days of searching. Thank you!!

And unrelenting praise and elevation to goddesshood for the backup writers [info]florahart (who wrote Nine Minutes/Forty-Three Tears (Harry/Dean, R)) and [info]fluffyllama (who wrote Dare (Millicent/Pansy, R), Ghosts of Summer (Sirius/Remus, G), AND Broken Promises (Voldemort/Peter, NC-17)), who pulled together on painfully short notice. You've both gained a faithful and adoring minion in me. ::hugs::

I have one more thing to do before this comm ends its run. I have kept all the pairings and challenges that weren't fulfilled in the first round, and I thought it might be worth posting them here. Some of them are great, if I do say so myself. :-) If anyone feels like being inspired by them (no pressure or anything ;-)), feel free to write something and send it over to me - I'm more than happy to post it here, if that is your desire. I have one bonus fic already, which will be posted soon.

Here they are! )

So, that's essentially it. Thanks once again to everyone who's been supportive throughout this - your encouragement has meant a lot to me.

As to whether or not I'll run this again next year... wellllll, we'll see. ;-)

~ [info]melpemone.

And, just quietly, I've posted my Highly Subjective Top Eleven [info]hp_remix Recs over at my journal. Hey, what good is having a community if you can't pimp your rec lists? ;-)
